Emotions are running high around the Johan Cruijff ArenA well before Ajax – Olympique Marseille starts. Images show how the fans who traveled with them caused unrest and brawled with Amsterdam supporters. A Frenchman was reportedly knocked unconscious. The riots are reminiscent of last year, when a similar situation occurred around Olympique Marseille – Feyenoord.
In May 2022, Feyenoord had to defend a 3-2 lead in the semi-finals of the Conference League. The fans of both clubs clashed in Marseille. The worst happened on the eve of the match, when fireworks clashes took place and knives were drawn. Feyenoord drew 0-0 a day later.

Things are also intense in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was already grim because of the crisis surrounding Ajax. The supporters are demanding a departure from the supervisory board (SB) and showed this by means of a banner with the text ‘We want Ajax DNA at the top, the Supervisory Board fuck off’. Sven Mislintat, who is being investigated for possible conflicts of interest in the transfer of Borna Sosa, will not be present at the ArenA on Thursday. It has been decided not to allow him to attend matches temporarily.
