Justin Kluivert has taken OGC Nice by the hand for the second time in eleven days. The left attacker scored the only goal (1-0) against Angers and stood out with his good game anyway. Kluivert was prevented from a wonderful assist by minimal offside from the goalscorer, but it didn’t bother Nice in the end. Thanks to the victory, Christophe Galtier’s team remains firmly in third place in Ligue 1.

In addition to Kluivert, who also decided the cup match against Olympique Marseille (4-1 win) with two assists and a goal, another Dutchman started with Pablo Rosario in the base. The former PSV player regained his starting spot after a substitute against Olympique Lyon (2-0 loss). Kasper Dolberg also returned to the starting position after the ex-Ajacied missed three matches due to a corona infection. Kluivert started the game with good action on the left wing, but did not reach a teammate with his cross.

Kluivert skilfully taps the ball under Petkovic: 1-0.

In the nineteenth minute, Kluivert was able to finish it all alone. The attacker was served perfectly in depth by Melvin Bard and passed the ball extremely cold-bloodedly under the far out goalkeeper Danijel Petkovic: 1-0. Nice was supreme and Dolberg should have scored after an hour of play, but the striker was unable to control Dante’s header at the far post.

Moments later, Kluivert placed a free kick perfectly on the head of Andy Delort, who saw his goal disallowed due to offside. Delort was able to recover that a minute later, but aimed his marker over Petkovic just wide of the goal. Angers tried again with a long shot from Sofiane Boufal, which could be tapped over the goal by Walter Benítez
