Lothar Matthäus has the impression that the Bayern Munich management is no longer fully behind Julian Nagelsmann. He writes this in his column for Sky Sport Deutschland. The Record Master only managed to win two of the six Bundesliga games this calendar year and is tied in points with closest attackers 1. FC Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund. Matthäus is concerned about the open lack of support for Nagelsmann from the board.

Bayern have been crowned champions of Germany for the past ten seasons. This season, however, is anything but smooth. Although the South Germans are still the leaders, they have already played 1-1 draws three times this calendar year and last weekend they lost 3-2 at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The pressure is therefore increasing on trainer Nagelsmann, Matthäus also sees.

According to the German record international, Nagelsmann is left to his fate in Bavaria and there is also too much commotion. “Manuel Neuer who goes skiing and breaks a leg, Serge Gnabry who attends Paris Fashion Week, goalkeeper coach Toni Tapalovic who is kicked out: one problem has not yet been solved or the next one presents itself,” writes Matthäus, who recognizes that Nagelsmann all these problems on his plate. “The club management should nip all these things in the bud much faster.”

The lack of support can be called striking, according to the former international. “Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness would never have let their coach get into this situation. They would have thrown themselves in front of the trainer as bodyguards,” says Matthäus. “The question is: why does no one from the management protect Nagelsmann? Slowly but surely you get the impression that not everyone in the club management is behind him anymore ”, he concludes.
