Lazio booked a late win at Internazionale on Saturday night. The Milanese still enjoyed a 0-1 lead at half-time, but after the break, the team of coach Maurizio Sarri completely changed course: 3-1. Thanks to the win, Lazio (fourteen points) climbs to fifth place in the ranking; Inter (seventeen) is still third but can still be surpassed by AS Roma (fourteen).

Trainer Simone Inzaghi had made a starting spot for Stefan de Vrij, while Denzel Dumfries only came in halfway through for Alessandro Bastoni. Lazio lacked the still injured Bobby Adekanye. The first chance of the game was scored by the home team. Pedro saw his shot blocked by Milan Skriniar, after which Lucas Leiva also did not get the ball from the rebound between the posts. Internazionale immediately converted the first chance of the game into a goal.

Elseid Hysaj started his tackle too late on Nicolò Barella, who went to the ground within the box. Referee Massimiliano Irrati then gave a penalty to Inter, and it was Ivan Perisic who made no mistake from eleven meters: 0-1. The game then went back and forth, although both teams were unable to break the spell before half-time. After the break, Lazio took matters into their own hands and the number of opportunities created by the visitors was scarce. The equalizer came after a controversial decision by Irrati to put the ball on the spot. From less than half a meter away, Patric headed the ball onto Bastoni’s arm, but it was enough for the referee on duty for a penalty kick. The opportunity was capitalized by Ciro Immobile.

The equalizer led the remontada from Lazio, although it took until the 81st minute before the dominance of the field was reflected on the scoreboard. While the Inter players appealed for a foul, Le Aguilea the game on. After a quick switch, goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was able to turn Immobile’s bet, but Felipe Anderson struck from the rebound: 2-1. The final chord was played in injury time by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who scored the 3-1 final score on the advice of Luis Alberto. After the game, Luiz was presented with a red card.
