ADO Den Haag threw away a result against VVV-Venlo in the absolute final seconds on Friday evening. Dirk Kuijt urged his men in stoppage time to look for the winning goal, but instead got the decisive goal himself, made by Nick Venema: 2-3. Stunt team MVV Maastricht, meanwhile, remained stoic and wiped Helmond Sport off the field: 4-0. The Limburgers seemed to take the lead in the Kitchen Champion Division for a while, but remain second due to Heracles Almelo’s late win at Willem II (1-2). Alexander Büttner scored fantastic from the sidelines, but De Graafschap won’t buy anything for it: 2-1 loss at FC Den Bosch.

ADO The Hague – VVV-Venlo 2-3
ADO took advantage of a weak defense at VVV in the fifth minute. Basic debutant Silvinho Esajas was able to easily pick up the ball and fire from sixteen meters: 1-0. Xander Severina soon missed a good chance at 2-0. VVV fought back with a striking header from Rick Ketting from a corner just before half time: 1-1. After the break, things started to get more and more difficult at ADO. VVV took advantage of a lot of space on the right wing in the 66th minute. Tristan Dekker pulled the trigger with a diagonal shot: 1-2. Immediately afterwards, ADO got away with another big opportunity for VVV. Kuijt’s team showed resilience by equalizing fifteen minutes before the end. The cleverly turned away Severina shot one-on-one first at Ennio van der Gouw and completed the rebound: 2-2. ADO looked for the victory and was slaughtered in the counter in stoppage time. Nick Venema broke through the defense and tapped in after passing goalkeeper Hugo Wentges: 2-3.

MVV Maastricht – Helmond Sport 4-0
Both teams made it an entertaining game from kick-off in De Geusselt. Sven Blummel ruined a huge opportunity for MVV after fifteen minutes, while Helmond hit the crossbar via Martijn Kaars. The home side were clearly superior and soon took their distance. Ruben van Bommel took full advantage of a slip in the back and scored: 1-0. MVV went on and deserved 2-0 in minute 37. Van Bommel put the ball from the back line on a silver platter for Nicky Souren, who finished it off. Six minutes after the break, the third goal came from a free kick. Koen Kostons’ striker was turned, but in the rebound Hakon Lorentzen put the ball into his own goal: 3-0. MVV was further helped in the final by Helmond, who again shot the ball behind his own keeper, this time very clumsily via Robin van der Meer: 4-0.

TOP Oss – PEC Zwolle 0-5
PEC started energetically in the Frans Heesen Stadium. Younes Taha took advantage of the loss of the ball in the build-up at TOP Oss after seven minutes and shot in from sixteen meters: 0-1. Lennart Thy doubled the lead after half an hour by taking advantage of a mistake by Lorenzo Piqué, who mowed over the ball: 0-2. Twenty minutes after the break, PEC decided it via a smooth attack. Daijiro Chirino, who had just come in, was able to finish it from close by with a striker and thus signed for his first goal in professional football. PEC went a step further in the final phase. Thy made it 0-4 in the 84th minute, while Thomas van den Belt made the final chord in injury time with a placed shot from eighteen meters: 0-5.

FC Den Bosch – De Graafschap 2-1
Büttner opened the evening after fifteen minutes with one of the most beautiful goals this season. The left back of De Graafschap surprised friend and foe by scoring unparalleled from a volley from the sidelines (although there is uncertainty about his intention): 0-1. The visitors were stronger, but still let Den Bosch come back. A nice overhead kick by Joey Konings from a corner meant a 1-1 halftime score. Den Bosch also scored in the second half from a corner, this time headed in by Victor van den Bogert: 2-1.

FC Dordrecht – Young Ajax 3-4
Young Ajax’s first successful attack immediately resulted in a goal after ten minutes. Sontje Hansen put in a low cross, Christian Rasmussen thought to tap in, but it took an extra tap from Kristian Hlynsson to score: 0-1. Dordrecht turned it around completely before the break. Samuele Longo headed in from a corner after half an hour and repeated the recipe seven minutes later, with the difference that now Jaymillio Pinas gave the head a final push: 2-1.

Young Ajax showed incredible resilience by taking the lead again within four minutes of the break. In the 48th minute, Rasmussen finished a great solo from a difficult position: 2-2. A minute later it was Hansen’s turn, who shot in from the right from the penalty area: 2-3. A great shot from distance from thirty meters, fired by Mathis Suray, equalized the score after an hour: 3-3. Young Ajax did not create much more, but showed itself very efficiently in the final phase. Hlynsson headed in half backwards from a cross by Youri Regeer: 3-4.

NAC Breda – Telstar 1-1
NAC dictated the game in-house and combined beautifully after 21 minutes to the opening goal. Sabir Agougil spooned the ball to the far post, where Vieri Kotzebue was able to walk in: 1-0. Within three minutes the ball was in the goal on the other side. Mitch Apau did not jump in with a corner, but was still able to head in: 1-1. Jort van der Sande came closest to a winning goal on behalf of NAC in the second half, but saw his shot blocked.
