Quique Sánchez Flores does not understand FC Barcelona's decision to send Xavi away. According to the Seville coach, the Catalans should deal better with a living legend like Xavi. The Flores team ends the season at home against Barcelona on Sunday.

“I shouldn't say this… But how poorly Barcelona treats its legends,” Flores expressed his surprise on Friday at the press conference prior to Sevilla's home match against Barcelona on Sunday evening.

“They have been doing really badly there lately. Koeman, Messi and now Xavi now, really bad. I wish clubs treated their legends well,” the Seville coach told Barcelona chairman Joan Laporta.

“That would be really fantastic. That is a legacy of bonding between trainers and supporters. Treating legends well creates a close bond,” said Flores, who has been with Sevilla since December 2023.

Flores emphasizes how much the departing Xavi has meant to Barcelona. “He has achieved a lot as a player and has also done good things for the club as a trainer. I will hug him and talk to him on Sunday.”

Dismissal

“FC Barcelona would like to thank from Xavi. More will become clear about the new technical staff in the coming days.

Flick

It is expected that Hansi Flick will be officially presented by Barcelona in the very near future. Laporta and Deco want to do business quickly with the 59-year-old German, who, according to the German branch of Sky Sports has already reached a personal agreement with the number two in LaLiga. A one-year contract is ready for Flick, with the option of an extra season.
