Barcelona will play its traditional Trofeu Joan Gamper match against Elche on Saturday and trainer Ronald Koeman will finally be able to call on Miralem Pjanic during this final test before the start of the new season. The Bosnian was missing so far due to a corona infection, but is now part of the match selection.

“He can’t play for very long, but probably a few minutes,” Koeman says in the Spanish press about Pjanic. So far the midfielder is considered the most expensive purchase of Barcelona of this transfer period. A few months ago, Pjanic was taken over from Juventus for sixty million euros, with Arthur, whose value was set at over seventy million, taking the opposite course.

Just like in his previous practice duels, Koeman again has no place in his selection for Luis Suárez and Arturo Vidal. Barcelona hopes to sell out the two routines before the transfer market closes and Vidal seems closest to an exit. The Chilean is reportedly close to a transfer to Internazionale.

Among others Lionel Messi, Antonie Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong and Philippe Coutinho have also been selected to meet Elche. The competition for the Trofeu Joan Gamper will start Saturday evening at 19.00 at the Camp Nou. Barcelona starts the new season in LaLiga next Sunday against Villarreal.
