The Kitchen Champion Division and Derbystar together proudly present the design of the new match ball for the 2023/24 season. Next season, the ball will symbolize Friday evening, which is claimed by ‘the most exciting football competition’, as the Kitchen Champion Division puts it.
“Anyone who is crazy about football and likes to kick off the weekend with a nice game of football, looks forward to Friday evening every week,” says the Kitchen Champion Division and its press release. “After a busy week at work or school, young and old go to the stadium to enjoy a wonderful evening of football. Excitement, battle and spectacle are guaranteed, so that a match from the Kitchen Champion Division never disappoints.”
Twenty years of Derbystar in the Eerste Divisie
A number of typical atmospheric images from the Kitchen Champion Division have been captured on the new ball. Of course the fans have been given a prominent place on the ball, because without supporters there would be no football. And since many duels take place during a setting sun, the ball has a recognizable the Dutch accent color.
Of course, the unique Kitchen Champion Division shield should also be part of the design. The Bronze and Gold Shields are the league awards that clubs, players and coaches can win based on supporters’ votes. The number 20, which is depicted on the shield, is a reference to Derbystar’s twentieth match ball in the Eerste Divisie.
“The Kitchen Champion Division and Derbystar look back on a great collaboration in the creation of this jubilee edition. A copy that players and supporters can be proud of!”, concludes the competition.
