Kenny Tete will switch to Besiktas after this season, various Turkish media report. The Dutchman's contract with Fulham expires this summer and so Tete is looking for a new club. He is said to have now reached an agreement on a three-year contract in Turkey.

“If all goes well, the signatures will be signed shortly,” Turkish media report. It is claimed that there has already been a verbal agreement with the right back, who is keen on a move.

Tete is in his fourth season in London, but is anything but certain of a starting place under coach Marco Silva. He made eighteen appearances in all competitions this season, scoring once.

Now the 28-year-old full-back is ready for a new adventure. Besiktas wants to offer a solution. The team is disappointingly fourth in the Süper Lig this season, with a huge deficit of 39 points to leader Galatasaray.

A fourth place would mean a ticket for the preliminary rounds of the Conference League for Besiktas at the end of the season, something that is below target for the team from Istanbul. That is why the club wants to significantly strengthen the selection with a view to next season.

Tete is seen as one of those much-needed reinforcements. The ex-Ajax player would then have to compete with, among others, ex-AZ player Jonas Svensson, who is assured of a starting place in the right back position this season.

Tete transferred from Olympique Lyon to Fulham in 2020 for more than three million euros, where he has now played 98 games over four seasons. In those appearances he scored four goals and provided eight assists.
