Juventus achieved another victory in Serie A on Saturday afternoon. Lazio was defeated 3-1 at home thanks to goals from Dusan Vlahovic (2x) and Federico Chiesa. Luis Alberto was accurate on behalf of the visitors. The team of coach Massimiliano Allegri is in the lead with ten points from four matches, although AC Milan or Internazionale can pass Juve again on Saturday evening.

Allegri made only one change compared to the victory over Empoli (0-2) before the international break. Wojciech Szczesny made his return under the bar, meaning Mattia Perin had to settle for a place on the bench. Federico Chiesa and Federico Gatti were doubtful, but fit enough to start. Paul Pogba was the big absentee. The Frenchman tested positive for testosterone use after the match against Udinese on August 20, although he did not enter the lines in that match. Doping authorities decided on Monday that the controller has been provisionally suspended.

Juve managed to break the spell in the Allianz Stadium within ten minutes. Manuel Locatelli crossed, after which Vlahovic didn’t think twice and convincingly shot the ball behind goalkeeper Ivan Provedel: 1-0. La Vecchia Signora had only 34 percent possession of the ball before halftime, but still managed to double the margin. An attack seemed to be going wrong until Chiesa got the ball at his feet and found the short corner with a hard shot: 2-0.

Lazio also dominated possession in the second act and got rewarded for their work in the 64th minute. Luis Alberto was able to intercept after an incorrect pass from Gleison Bremer and then brought the tension back into the match with a beautifully placed shot: 2-1. However, Vlahovic quickly reduced the margin to two. The Serbian striker was found with a long ball by Weston McKennie, took a good shot with the chest and then finished effectively: 3-1.
