Jordi Cruijff wants to work as a trainer again, it is claimed Mundo Deportivo. The fifty-year-old Amsterdammer, son of Johan Cruijff, has received offers from several countries. The intention is that he will be back on the bench somewhere after the summer.

After Cruijff stepped down from his position as sporting director at FC Barcelona last summer and took a sabbatical, he seems ready for a job in football again.

After previous stints at AEK Larnaca and Maccabi Tel Aviv as technical director, he is said to have set his sights on a future as head coach again. He was previously at the helm of Chongqing Lifan and Shenzhen FC in China and was national coach of Ecuador.

This calendar year, Cruijff received an offer from Al-Ittihad to become technical director. However, the Saudis decided to opt for Ramon Planes after the Dutchman's rejection.

Ajax, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur were also reportedly looking for the services of Cruijff, who preferred a quiet period to start working as a trainer again from the summer.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Cruijff's future seems to point towards the Middle East. Clubs from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar are interested in his services, it sounds.

It is clear that Cruijff does not only go to work when a great opportunity presents itself. Joel Lara, with whom he has a history in Barcelona's scouting department, will join him in a similar role.

No Ajax

Cruijff's choice to return to work as a trainer means that he will not return to Ajax. The Amsterdammer has been linked several times in the past year with a return to his hometown as technical director, but does not seem to have any interest in that.

Cruijff was put forward by several Ajax celebrities, among others, as an ideal successor to the previously dismissed Sven Mislintat. Recently reported Sport that Ajax wanted to bring both Cruijff and Xavi to the ArenA.
