Jhon van Beukering is suspected of involvement in two cannabis farms and assault. That writes it General Journal Friday. The former striker of Feyenoord and NEC, among others, will have to appear at a hearing within three months and will then hear the sentence from the Public Prosecution Service.

Van Beukering is said to be involved in a cannabis nursery in Klarenbeek, where 498 plants were found in 2017, and a nursery in Deurningen. No fewer than 890 plants were found there in 2018. In addition, the former striker is suspected of assault in Velp in April 2020. Van Beukering is said to have performed a neck clamp on the street and also hit the same person on the head. The victim of the alleged assault was wearing a helmet at the time.

The case was already before the police judge in Arnhem on Friday, but only 45 minutes were reserved for the case. The judge found that too little and so the case is postponed. There must be a new hearing within three months and a three-judge panel will consider the case. Van Beukering and two other suspects will then have to answer for themselves.

Van Beukering made his debut in professional football at Vitesse in 2000 and ended up at Feyenoord via FC Zwolle, De Graafschap, NEC, again De Graafschap and Go Ahead Eagles. In the 2010/11 season, the attacker played three official matches for the Rotterdam club, in which he failed to score. Later Van Beukering also played for the Indonesian Pelita Jaya and FC Dordrecht. Nowadays, the now 39-year-old Velpenaar works as a doorman at a strip club in Tilburg.
