Ron Jans has announced FC Twente’s line-up for the first game in the Conference League play-offs against Fiorentina. The coach has access to Ramiz Zerrouki, for whom it was a question mark whether he would make it to the game. He forms the block in midfield with Michal Sadílek. Other than that, there are no surprises in the starting lineup. The duel in Florence will start at 9 p.m. and is led by the Pole Daniel Stefanski.
FC Twente has had an excellent start to the season so far. In the third preliminary round of the European tournament, FK Cukaricki was convincingly defeated, while the first two games in the Eredivisie were won against NEC and Fortuna Sittard. The right line must be continued against Fiorentina, who is labeled as the favorite on paper. The Tukkers, supported by 2,200 fans who traveled with them, hope to leave Italy with a result to finish the job in their own Grolsch Veste next week.
Zerrouki appeared on the field of the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Wednesday evening, but skipped part of the group training. However, the Algerian has been found fit enough to appear at kick-off. Furthermore, Jans does not have many concerns with regard to his selection. The trainer opts for the apparently strongest possible starting eleven and has been able to welcome Wout Brama and Casper Staring back to training after their injuries. Both traveled to Italy. Jans sees no reason to tinker with his team compared to the home match against Fortuna Sittard.
