James Rodríguez continues his career at Olympiacos, reports Fabrizio Romano. The 31-year-old Colombian is flying to Greece today where he will undergo a medical examination. There would already be a verbal agreement with his current club Al-Rayyan about a rental deal. Earlier this year, Rodríguez was wrongly associated with a switch to PSV.

After LaLiga, the Portuguese Primeira Liga, the Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the Argentine Primera División and the Qatari Stars League, the Colombian adds another league to his rich resume with his transfer. To date, he has played fifteen matches for Al-Rayyan SC in which he was accurate five times and gave seven assists. He is under contract with that club until mid-2024. In 2009, Rodríguez became the youngest foreigner to score a goal in Argentina at 17 years old, on behalf of Banfield. Not long after, in July 2010, he left for FC Porto, which paid him 5.1 million euros.

In 2013, AS Monaco knocked on the door and the Monegasques paid a whopping 45 million for him. The attacking midfielder had his most prolific periods with Real Madrid and FC Porto. In front of the Royal he played 125 games and scored 37 goals and 42 assists. During his time with the Portuguese, he scored 32 goals and was the successful declarant 42 times. However, his playing time and productivity have been decreasing in recent years. The periods at Bayern Munich as Everton were not very successful and that led to a surprising switch to Qatar. So now he returns to Europe.

Earlier this year Rodriguez was linked with a switch to PSV, but this turned out to be a nonsense rumor. In recent days, there has also been talk about a transfer to Galatasaray, but it will be Greece for Rodríguez. At Olympiacos he will meet his ex-Real Madrid teammate Marcelo. The Brazilian was signed by the Greeks on a free transfer earlier this month, after he played for the Madrilenians for more than fifteen years. The back signed with the Greek national champion for a year, with an option for a second season.
