Internazionale has almost got Robin Gosens, Fabrizio Romano reports on Tuesday evening. According to the transfer market expert, the talks between i Nerazzurri and Atalanta has entered the final phase. The deal has accelerated, as Romano only revealed on Tuesday morning that Inter had reported to Atalanta. It would be a rental period until the end of the current season with mandatory option to buy.

The final details will be discussed on Wednesday, after which nothing stands in the way of a final switch. Romano therefore reports that it will initially be a six-month lease, after which Inter will remove the mandatory purchase option. According to the Italian journalist, the transfer of Gosens involves an amount of approximately 22 million euros plus bonuses. The reporting is striking, as the talks about the fullback were still in the exploratory phase earlier in the day.

Inter may have wanted to speed up the signing of Gosens as Newcastle United also showed interest in the German. A few days ago, Atalanta already wiped the opening offer, allegedly twenty million euros, from the Premier League club off the table. Atalanta would prefer not to let Gosens leave, but the German international has indicated that it will not renew his contract expiring in mid-2023. Atalanta’s original asking price was 35 million euros, but the club now seems to agree to less, depending on the bonuses.

Gosens is an important link in the team of trainer Gian Piero Gasperini, who also has a lot of attacking contribution as a left wing player in a system with three center defenders. Since his arrival from Heracles in 2017, Gosens has scored 29 goals and 21 assists in 157 games. He made 13 official appearances for the German national team (2 goals, 4 assists).
