Dumfries was busy and got his first chance a few minutes before half time in a quick counterattack. The right-back appeared on the left side of the penalty area, but was unable to surprise Ivan Provedel with his shot. After more than an hour of play, Dumfries got an even better chance. Inter kept looking for the liberating second goal and found it fifteen minutes before the end. Again Perisic was at the base by cutting in from the left and sending the ball towards the far post. Lautaro Martínez, who had just come in, extended the ball with a handy foot movement: 0-2.
