The future of Mohamed Ihattaren lies in Italy. The nineteen-year-old attacking midfielder is exchanging PSV for Juventus, Fabrizio Romano reports. The Italian superpower will immediately lease Ihattaren to Sampdoria. Ihattaren and his agent Mino Raiola will fly to Italy in the next few hours to finalize the deal.

Ihattaren hit a collision course with PSV this summer. On Saturday 31 July, PSV announced that he would follow an individual training program on the PSV Campus. The club blamed the talent for ‘failing to fulfill a number of agreements with the club’. Ihattaren was not selected for the Champions League matches with FC Midtjylland and the match against Ajax for the Johan Cruijff Scale. Shortly before that, he had called in sick for the fifth time in eight months.

Ihattaren comes from the PSV youth academy. He made his debut in January 2019 under the leadership of Mark van Bommel and made a good impression at PSV in particular in the first half of the 2019/20 season. After the interruption of the competition due to the corona virus, Ihattaren was unable to regain his old form. Under trainer Roger Schmidt he was never sure of a starting place. For Ihattaren, the counter at PSV has stopped at 74 matches, in which he scored 10 times and provided 11 assists.
