Valentijn Driessen thinks that John van 't Schip will no longer work at Ajax next season. The plan is actually that the current interim coach of the Amsterdam team will get a position in the technical management at Ajax next year.

“An agreement has been made with John van 't Schip that after this season he will become a kind of culture guardian at Ajax,” says Valentijn Driessen in a video item from Today Inside.

“Then he walks around everywhere and gives his advice. Both about purchases and sales. But that's actually a function without a real description. Then you end up between a rock and a hard place and you actually have nothing to say.”

Van 't Schip started off strongly as coach of Ajax. Since his appointment at the end of October, the upward trajectory has been underway. However, at the beginning of February he suffered his first league defeat when he visited SC Heerenveen (3-2), after which the matches with FK Bodø/Glimt (2-2) and NEC (2-2) were also not won.

The criticism of Van 't Schip increases with each match and Driessen would not be surprised if the coach leaves Ajax after this season. “I think that if Van 't Schip gets a good offer from another club, he will take it up.”

Driessen also criticizes several Ajax players in the video item. “Sutalo only plays backwards. At NEC, Philippe Sandler, who was trained by Ajax, plays everything ahead. Dirk Proper does that too. It's better to have him than Jordan Henderson.”

The head footballer of The Telegraph also finds it incomprehensible that Van 't Schip decided against NEC after 65 minutes to bring on Ar'Jany Martha as a substitute. “The first time he played as a left back in Ajax 1, the flags all went out. It is now the same people who are serving him, but that boy is simply not at the level. Martha was destined to be left out of the reserves and is now in Ajax 1. Nobody understands this,” said Driessen.
