Latest update:

UEFA has distributed the referees for this week's Europe and Conference League matches. Against Bodø/Glimt, Ajax will have to deal with an old acquaintance, who once refereed a 'very frustrating match' in a European context.

Tasos Sidiropoulos is the designated referee. Opinion of the Amsterdam club will remember the match between Getafe and Ajax in 2020. The Greek led that match.

Ajax ultimately failed to beat Getafe in two matches. In Spain they lost 2-0 to the Spaniards and in the return in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the team of then coach Erik ten Hag did not get further than a 2-1 victory, which meant that Getafe ultimately came out on top.

During the match in Amsterdam, Ten Hag got into an argument with Getafe coach José Bordalás. In the fifteenth minute, Ten Hag and Bordalás came very close to each other and had to be separated by officials.

After the loss against the Madrid team, Ten Hag was critical of the arbitration. “Getafe has no intention of playing football. They made it very difficult for us to play football. If the arbitration doesn't occur then, this is what you get.”

In the first half of the match in Amsterdam, only a pure playing time of 24 minutes was recorded. Yet referee Sidiropoulos only added two minutes in the first act.

The match between AS Roma and Feyenoord will be led by Jesús Gil Manzano. The Spaniard has already refereed two European matches for the Rotterdam team. Against Manchester United in 2016 (1-0 win) and against Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 (7-1 win)
