Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the most talked about man on the side of AC Milan on Sunday evening after the game against AS Roma. With a striking free kick, he was at the basis of the 1-2 victory. The Swedish striker was booed at the Stadio Olimpico and was shown a yellow card for arm gestures towards the home crowd. On Instagram, Ibrahimovic then shared a photo of his football boots with the number 40 on them, referring to his age.

A group of Roma supporters failed to behave themselves towards some AC Milan players. While Franck Kessié was aiming for the 0-2 from eleven meters, monkey noises would have been heard. In addition, chants could be heard towards Ibrahimovic, who was called a ‘gypsy’.

Ibrahimovic reacted to the supporters after making the 0-1 from a free kick. His devastating drive went through the wall in the far corner, behind goalkeeper Rui Patrício. It marked Ibrahimovic’s 400th goal in a domestic competition and his 150th goal in Serie A. Ibrahimovic is said to have asked supporters to sing louder after his goal and received a yellow card from referee Fabio Maresca.

“I need booing. The more I get booed, the more I feel alive. Adrenaline gives me so much,” said the Swede afterwards in conversation with DAZN to the chants of the Roma public. Because of the behavior of the home supporters, Roma seems to have to fear a penalty from the Italian Football Association. Earlier, during the home game against Napoli, racist chants were heard.
