Ajax is seriously considering buying back Brian Brobbey. According to trainer Erik ten Hag, director of player affairs is ‘busy’ with the return of the striker, but it is not clear whether that scenario is realistic. Brobbey will switch from Ajax to RB Leipzig in the summer. He has already signed a four-year contract. “I know that Overmars is working on that. But I really don’t know whether it is possible to buy him back”, Ten Hag indicates after Ajax’s victory over VVV-Venlo (3-1).

Brobbey was brought in by technical director Markus Krösche, who is leaving Leipzig after the current season despite an ongoing contract. In addition, trainer Julian Nagelsmann is switching to Bayern Munich; Brobbey said in March that he saw Nagelsmann as a ‘great trainer’ from whom he can learn a lot. His perspective has therefore not improved in recent weeks. Club watcher Mike Verweij said on Saturday that Brobbey “seems to be less and less satisfied” since he confirmed the transfer. However, Ten Hag himself says he does not know what the nineteen-year-old attacker thinks about a direct return to Amsterdam.

“I don’t know yet exactly how Brobbey is in that position. He hasn’t been very outspoken about it yet. But I understand that too. He hasn’t even played a match there yet,” said Ten Hag, who also hopes for the arrival from Kamaldeen Sulemana. Overmars traveled to Denmark on Monday to attack FC’s attacker. Nordsjaelland at work against FC Copenhagen. “He is an attractive player who is technically skilled and goes on an adventure and has a lot of speed. We now have to see if we can materialize his arrival.” Sulemana is also in the spotlight of Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen.

Finally, Ajax has not yet made a decision about the future of Oussama Idrissi. The mercenary from Sevilla had a basic place at Ajax for the first time this season against VVV on Thursday. He will in principle be rented until the end of this season and has a contract with Sevilla until the summer of 2025. The fact that Idrissi got little playing time at Ajax this season, has to do with the competition from Dusan Tadic, according to Ten Hag. “I am very satisfied with Oussama. He did an excellent job at the training and as a person also suits us”, says Ten Hag during the press conference.
