Eden Hazard has spoken out about his dire situation at Real Madrid after months of radio silence. In conversation with the Belgian RTBF says the attacker does not or hardly speak to trainer Carlo Ancelotti, who has only used him once this calendar year so far. Although Hazard says he respects Ancelotti, he does not want to create the illusion that he maintains a good relationship with him.

In the interview, which lasts almost an hour, Hazard talks about his farewell as Red Devil and any return in that capacity (which he excludes). He treats every subject with a smile, until the Ancelotti issue comes up. “There is mutual respect,” Hazard begins, “but I’m not going to say we talk to each other, because we don’t.”

The 32-year-old winger, who was taken over from Chelsea for 115 million euros almost four years ago, has only played once this calendar year for the Royal (against Cacereño in the Copa del Rey, 0-1 win). Yet he holds no grudge against his trainer. “There will always be respect. Even if he decides not to let me play at all. I have to respect someone like Carlo Ancelotti for what he represents in football and what he has achieved in his career. There is no problem,” he said. Hazard.

He says to ‘accept the situation’ and to work hard to change it. He is therefore still determined to succeed in Madrid. “I would like to stay here. I have always dreamed of this club. I am only waiting for one thing and that is to prove on the pitch that I can still play good football. Even if people doubt that, but that is normal.”
