Ibrahim Sangaré has never regretted his choice for PSV. The defensive midfielder, who was taken over from Toulouse in France for nine million last year, immediately had a good feeling during the exploratory talks with the PSV leadership. Sangaré wants to do everything to make his adventure in Eindhoven a great success.

“I felt a genuine interest from PSV in me as a person”, Sangaré reveals in an interview with supporters magazine PSV Supporter. “Of course, you can always move to another club. But if you really feel wanted, and PSV did everything they could to attract me, then that is a pleasure. I could indeed go to England. I looked at the sporting challenge. The story and the project of PSV really appealed to me “, the midfielder pays a compliment to his employer.

Sangaré gives an insight into how the contact with PSV came about last summer. “When PSV showed interest, I spoke twice via Whatsapp with Nicolat Isimat-Mirin who played with me at Toulouse on a rental basis”, the controller refers to the defender who played in the Philips Stadium for some time. “He told me a lot about the PSV club management. He really made me enthusiastic about the PSV project. His words certainly helped me to choose to come to Eindhoven.”

Last year’s purchase of millions was not immediately the champion in its first year in the Netherlands. Second place is the highest achievable for PSV this season. However, the ambitious Sangaré is already focusing on the next year. “We will do everything we can to win the national title”, said the midfielder from Ivory Coast, who cannot say for sure how long he will wear the PSV shirt. “I don’t want to think about career planning any further. I want to leave my mark here first. I can only do that by helping the club win a prize. That’s my goal.” PSV will close the season with games against PEC Zwolle (Thursday) and FC Utrecht (Sunday).
