Hamburger SV defender Timo Leistner is expected to face a substantial suspension. After the 4-1 loss in the DFB Pokal against Dynamo Dresden he was insulted from the stands by a supporter. Leistner did not let it go over his side and climbed up the stands to attack the man. He grabbed the man by his collar and pushed him over. Stewards and bystanders were quickly on the scene to prevent worse. Leistner was pushed down a couple of steps, which caused him to fall, after which he left for the catacombs.
Leistner, who was born in Dresden and was under contract with Dynamo Dresden between 2010 and 2014, went down hard in the cup tournament on Monday evening. Afterwards he gave an interview and during the interview he was insulted from the stands, according to several German media reports. He did not hesitate for a moment and appeared in the stands to tackle the supporters of the opposing team. What was shouted at him from the stands is unknown.
