Henk Veerman officially makes the switch from sc Heerenveen to FC Utrecht, both clubs report through the official channels. The 30-year-old striker signs a contract that binds him to the club from the Domstad for two and a half seasons. With this, Veerman fulfills a promise he once made to a deceased friend, who was a supporter of Utrecht. As a result, the attacker has to give up on salary, which, however, did not appear to be an obstacle to the realization of the transfer.
“Interest in Henk has been dormant for a while,” says technical manager of sc Heerenveen Ferry de Haan. “Henk informed us that he would like to take this step. After we assured ourselves of the arrival of Sydney van Hooijdonk, we switched. We think this transfer is a good solution for all parties. We wish Henk every success in his further career .” According to The Telegraph the transfer fee for Veerman is a lot lower than his market value, which is one million euros (source: Transfermarkt). Heerenveen would agree to this because the club would like to reduce its own salary house.

Heerenveen already reported the temporary arrival of Sydney van Hooijdonk on Tuesday, which made it possible for Henk Veerman to leave.
