Jordan Henderson looks set to end his career at Liverpool. The 31-year-old captain has his contract with the Reds extended until the summer of 2025. The veteran midfielder’s old commitment continued until after the 2022/23 season. Henderson joined Liverpool in 2011, and over the years has become a key midfield link in manager Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

“It is an honor and I am proud to continue my adventure at Liverpool,” Henderson said after signing the contracts. “It’s great that we’ve finally come to an agreement and I’m really looking forward to the future at this club. As a player and person I’m on a completely different plane compared to when I came to Liverpool. I’ve learned a lot and I’m I’ve grown a lot in my time here and there are several people I have to be thankful for.”

“I have loved every minute of it, even in the difficult times,” said the Liverpool captain. “Even at such moments it was an honor to be part of this club. The longer I can play here, the better. My intention is to stay here as long as possible, I have always emphasized that. To continue this journey is really great for me and my family and I hope the club and the supporters feel the same way,” concludes the delighted Henderson.

Since moving from Sunderland to Liverpool in 2011, Henderson 394 has played for the powerhouse in all competitions. During that period, the midfielder won a total of five prizes: the English league title, the Champions League, EFL Cup, the European Supercup and the World Cup for club teams.
