Ajax coach John Heitinga may be able to call on Devyne Rensch and Mohammed Kudus again in the cup final against PSV on Sunday. The two have been in the rag basket in recent weeks, but trained with the group again on Friday. Edson Álvarez also returns to Ajax. He was suspended in the top match against PSV last Sunday.

Ajax has an almost fit selection for the cup final against PSV. Only Kian Fitz-Jim and Ahmetcan Kaplan are missing due to various injuries. Rensch and Kudus are still a question mark. There is a chance that the wing defender and winger will be back in De Kuip, Heitinga announced during the press conference on Friday.

“Rensch and Kudus trained a part today”, says Heitinga. “We now have to wait for the reaction. Tomorrow decisions will be made about that. If there is no response, we will talk to the player. One (Rensch, ed.) has been out a little longer than the other (Kudus , ed.), but they are back on the field.”

Rensch last played on March 12 in the away match against Heerenveen. The right back suffered an upper leg injury and therefore had to miss two Classics (league and cup) and last weekend’s top match. Kudus had to miss the last three games after suffering a muscle injury in the cup match against Feyenoord.
