UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Jose Mourinho. The AS Roma coach went completely crazy on Wednesday after the lost Europa League final against Sevilla (1-1, 4-1) and insulted the British referee Anthony Taylor to the bone. The Telegraph stands up for compatriot Taylor and demands that Mourinho be dealt with. The scenes at Budapest airport were unacceptable. “Mourinho is like a bully on the playground and the only way to stop him is to impose strict sanctions.” Taylor was insufficiently protected by UEFA afterwards, according to the newspaper.
“The lack of security that Taylor had in that underground car park is astonishing, and that is the fault of UEFA. There would have been a match delegate and an observer, but that is not enough. What we saw was unprecedented, vicious and very disturbing.” The Telegraph believes that Mourinho should be suspended for ten matches. “People will say that’s excessive, but he deserves it.
