HARRY Maguire has been included in the England squad for next month’s Nations League football matches.

Phil Foden, Mason Greenwood and Kalvin Phillips then make their first international appearance, reports skysports.com

The inclusion of the Manchester United captain comes despite the fact that he is involved in a legal battle after an incident last week on the Greek island of Mykonos.

The 27-year-old denies charges of serious assault and attempted bribery of a police officer.

Season

Maguire returned to England. His lawyer will represent him in his trial on the island of Siros on Tuesday.

Foden (20) was included in the group after an impressive season for Manchester City and Greenwood (18) for Manchester United.

Phillips was included after helping Leeds win the Championship title.

Liverpool midfielders Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as well as Chelsea’s Ross Barkley are unavailable due to injuries.

Ben Chilwell, who plans to join Chelsea, is still struggling with a heel problem, while there are also concerns about Luke Shaw’s fitness.

That means England will enter those games without any backs in their squad, after Gareth Southgate (coach) chose to include Danny Rose.

Impressive

John Stones, who lost his place in City’s starting line-up this season, has been ruled out.

However, there is room for Southampton striker Danny Ings, who has also been impressive this season.
