Paris Saint-Germain prevented loss of points in the Ligue 1 on Wednesday. The star ensemble of Mauricio Pochettino could not convince without Lionel Messi, but was saved by a late goal by Achraf Hakimi: 1-2. Peter Bosz’s Olympique Lyon came back from behind against Troyes, washing away the defeat on a visit to PSG: 3-1.

FC Metz – Paris Saint Germain 1-2
Georginio Wijnaldum started in the base at PSG. Messi was absent due to a knee injury, while Ángel Di María was benched. This left Mauro Icardi in a starting spot, who was sent off early in the game by Neymar. Icardi’s bet was taken off the line, but Achraf Hakimi was able to take advantage and shoot in the rebound: 0-1. PSG had an optical advantage, although Pochettino’s team was hardly dangerous.

On the stroke of half-time, the Parisians were presented with the bill. A turning corner was headed in by Boubakar Kouyaté: 1-1. Things could have gotten worse for PSG, but the broken through Lamine Gueye failed to shoot the ball over Keylor Navas on the stroke of half-time. After the break there were few opportunities for the visitors. Neymar tried it with a curled shot that went just wide. Mbappe seemed to surprise Alexandre Oukidja with a huge arc from distance, but the goalkeeper was back just in time. Metz captain Dylan Bronn picked up two yellow cards in a row in injury time and was able to push in. Deep into injury time, PSG still took the win. The steamed-up Hakimi was played by Neymar, dribbled in from the right and found the far corner: 1-2.

Olympique Lyon – Troyes 3-1
After the sour 2-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain, the home game against Troyes for Peter Bosz’s team was, among other things, dominated by revenge. However, there was little to be seen of that in the first company, when the visitor took the lead just before half-time. Xavier Chavalerin was at the end of a nice attack and found the right corner. Lucas Paquetá thought he would quickly return something two minutes later, but saw his attempt go past the left post. After the break Lyon looked a lot fresher and Xherdan Shaqiri quickly leveled the score. With a beautiful shot he found the top left corner: 1-1. The decision came twenty minutes before time. Emerson Palmieri got the ball on the edge of the box and made an effective effort into the left corner: 2-1. The final chord came from Paquetá’s foot, who was set free in front of the keeper and could easily score the 3-1.
