Frank de Boer has announced his first final selection as national coach of the Dutch national team. Ronald Koeman’s successor selects 25 players for the friendly against Mexico and the Nations League duels with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy. De Boer immediately called up a debutant with Teun Koopmeiners.

Just under two weeks ago, interim national coach Dwight Lodeweges announced the 38-man pre-selection of Orange. In it he made way for Steven Berghuis, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Donyell Malen, Pablo Rosario, Javairô Dilrosun and Davy Klaassen, who were not there in the previous international period. Klaassen’s selection was particularly striking: the Werder Bremen midfielder was out of the picture for the Orange for a long time.

The Orange will play an exhibition game against Mexico in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Wednesday. An away game against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Nations League awaits on Sunday, October 11, and the Dutch will visit Italy on Wednesday, October 14. In the previous two games in the group stage of the Nations League, the Dutch Team took three points.

The final selection:

Goalkeepers: Jasper Cillessen (Valencia), Marco Bizot (AZ), Tim Krul (Norwich City)

Defense: Nathan Aké (Manchester City), Daley Blind (Ajax), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Denzel Dumfries (PSV), Hans Hateboer (Atalanta), Joël Veltman (Brighton & Hove Albion), Stefan de Vrij (Internazionale), Owen Wijndal (AZ).
