Ian Maatsen is not welcome at Chelsea’s training camp, journalist Adam Newson knows. The left back has been in the interest of Feyenoord for a long time, but he ruled out a switch to Rotterdam earlier this week. The twenty-year-old defender wants, according to the General Newspaper likes to go for his chances at Chelsea. The chances for the team from Rotterdam to attract Maatsen may suddenly increase after the decision of manager Thomas Tuchel.
Last week, Maatsen trained with the Chelsea first team. While waiting for the return of the internationals, the left back was already preparing for the new season. He hoped to seize his chance and put himself in the spotlight of Tuchel, who now seems to be coming with bad news for the top talent. According to Newson, Maatsen was not called up for the training camp in the United States.
