Feyenoord will try to release Micky van de Ven at FC Volendam on the last day of the summer transfer market, reports Feyenoord Transfermarkt tuesday morning. The twenty-year-old defender would like to leave the Keuken Kampioen Divisie club and even initiated an arbitration case when the club did not want to cooperate in a transfer to VfL Wolfsburg. The possible arrival of Van de Ven is reportedly widely supported within Feyenoord.

According to Feyenoord Transfermarkt it is an ‘all-or-nothing attempt’ for Van de Ven. Talks are currently taking place between Feyenoord and FC Volendam, but there would be ‘a huge number of snags’. Trainer Arne Slot hopes after Reiss Nelson, who is undergoing a medical examination today and then is hired from Arsenal for the rest of the season, for a striker to replace Robert Bózenik and a central defender.

PSV’s Nick Viergever was named as a candidate, but not everyone in De Kuip is equally enthusiastic about the veteran who should cost the club a few hundred thousand. The arrival of Van de Ven, on the other hand, is widely supported. He is still two seasons in North Holland. The center defender annex left back went through the youth academy of FC Volendam and broke through in the first team in 2019. In total, he has made 48 official appearances for the club, producing 2 goals and 2 assists.

Van de Ven wanted to force a transfer to VfL Wolfsburg, which wanted two million euros on the table, by means of the arbitration case. The center defender invoked the chance of significant financial and sporting improvement at the club of trainer Mark van Bommel and a disturbed employment relationship with FC Volendam. Van de Ven wanted to have his contract terminated on that basis, but the arbitration committee saw no reason to do so.
