Ridgeciano Haps is going to exchange Feyenoord for Venezia. Gianluca Di Marzio assures that the Rotterdammers have reached an agreement with the Italian PhD student. Venezia pays according to the Italian journalist and Feyenoord Transfermarkt 500,000 euros for the 28-year-old wing defender, with which Feyenoord records a significant loss.

Feyenoord paid six million euros in 2017 to untie Haps at AZ. Partly due to injuries, his employment in Rotterdam was not a resounding success. The competition now seems to have been finally won by Tyrell Malacia. Haps made 72 appearances for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie in the past four seasons. His contract ran until mid-2022, making this transfer window the penultimate moment for Feyenoord to still have a transfer fee left to Haps.

Earlier on Tuesday, reports surfaced about advanced negotiations between Feyenoord and Venezia. The team from Rotterdam has apparently now reached an agreement with the Serie A club, where former Eredivisie players Dennis Johnsen, Tyronne Ebuehi and Niki Mäenpää are also under contract.

As a replacement for Haps, the name of Fredrik André Björkan is singing around at Feyenoord. The 22-year-old left back is currently under contract with the Norwegian Bodö/Glimt. Björkan was also in the picture at Feyenoord at the end of June, but no contracts were signed then. The Rotterdam team did manage to capture right back Marcus Holmgren Pedersen at the time. With the departure of Haps, financial space is also created that Feyenoord wants to use for the complicated arrival of Micky van de Ven from FC Volendam.
