Feyenoord completed its last training on Saturday afternoon for Sunday’s Classic against Ajax. Fans of the Rotterdam team were present en masse to give their club a final boost towards the match against their arch rival. The Legion set off many fireworks and sang songs.

Those present at the Varkenoord training complex saw Ayase Ueda training. The Japanese recently fell injured during the international match between his country and Germany. Ueda was accurate against our Eastern neighbors, who were defeated 1-4. However, the Feyenoord striker was injured, which meant he had to miss the Champions League match against Celtic (2-0 win). Captain Gernot Trauner was also present again. The Austrian captain was absent from training on Friday due to illness.

Ueda took part in the public training on Saturday afternoon, after having successfully completed his first group training since his injury. Whether trainer Arne Slot will also take him to the Johan Cruijff ArenA remains to be seen. The coach will again have access to Santiago Giménez, who was suspended against Celtic and also had to miss the next European match, Atlético Madrid away.

During the match against the Scots, Luka Ivanusec was injured. The Croat has suffered an ankle injury and will miss the match against Ajax. The winger will probably be replaced by Yankuba Minteh, who started in the attack against Celtic in the absence of Giménez. The Gambian would probably be posted in the right wing position in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, while Igor Paixão has to provide the danger from the left.
