Feyenoord has almost already got Oussama Idrissi, reports 1908.nl. The usually reliable Twitter account knows from sources within the Rotterdam club that the Moroccan international should increase the attacking options for trainer Arne Slot. Idrissi still played in Feyenoord’s youth academy between 2011 and 2015, but only broke through in professional football at FC Groningen.

Earlier on Tuesday morning it could be read that the Rotterdammers were interested in Idrissi, but then developments followed each other in rapid succession. Now the Moroccan is already on his way to the port city and has already started the search for housing, since the rental transfer would be complete. After the medical examination, Idrissi will be presented in De Kuip and that will happen on Tuesday or Wednesday.

After two strong years in Groningen service, the now 26-year-old Idrissi made the switch to AZ in January 2018. There the wing attacker grew into an absolute trendsetter, with which he earned a nice transfer to Sevilla two and a half years later. At the time, the Andalusian club put twelve million euros on the table in Alkmaar. However, Idrissi has not yet been able to live up to that price tag. In his first six months in Seville, he only played three matches in LaLiga, after which the club decided to rent him out to Ajax.

Idrissi also ended up in second place in Amsterdam, although he was able to add his first national title to his palmares. After returning to Sevilla, coach Julien Lopetegui gave the quick left winger a handful of raids in LaLiga before he was allowed to move again on loan. At Spanish low-flyer Cádiz, Idrissi was finally assured of playing time again: in thirteen appearances he started twelve times.

The flush is currently thin for Feyenoord on the wings. Luis Sinisterra left for Leeds United, and where Javairô Dilrosun appeared to be brought in as a replacement, he prefers to play as a right winger. That is why Dennis te Kloese is still working with Largie Ramazani (Almería) and Wilfried Gnonto (FC Zurich). The arrival of the former is 1908.nl closer. Jean-Paul Boëtius could possibly also be considered an option. The attacking midfielder has been training with Slot’s selection for several weeks and originally broke through in professional football as a winger.
