Michel Vlap may be active again in the Eredivisie next season, as you know Football International to report. The attacking midfielder, who was loaned out to FC Twente by Anderlecht last season, does not have to count on playing time in Brussels this season and that is grist to the Tukkers’ mill. They hope to be able to take over Vlap definitively, but will face surprising competition with Fortuna Sittard.

Last season Vlap was ubiquitous at the FC Twente of trainer Ron Jans. The coach let him play in all 34 league matches and the Frisian scored 5 goals. At the end of the previous football year, it turned out that Anderlecht did not want to rent out the attacking midfielder again and a new contract with Vlap at Twente seemed far away. However, that has changed, the magazine writes. There is now talk of a definitive transfer for Vlap, who still has a contract until mid-2024 in the Belgian capital.

However, that doesn’t mean a deal is already imminent. Fortuna is in fact on the ropes and keeps a close eye on developments around Vlap. Previously, Fortuna had to watch Silvester van de Water move to SC Cambuur. After bringing in Burak Yilmaz, the Limburgers want to bring in a big name again and think they can do that with Vlap. However, it remains to be seen whether a move to Sittard is really realistic, as Twente would have the best papers to realize a return. Tijjani Reijnders of AZ is also in the picture in Enschede.

Vlap previously caused a furore in the Netherlands at sc Heerenveen, the club that trained him and where he finally broke through. In 2019 he earned his transfer to Anderlecht, which paid almost seven million euros to take him over. The Frisian has never been able to live up to that amount in the Lotto Park and a definitive departure therefore also seems imminent.

Fortuna is meanwhile also about to sign Rémy Vita as the new left back. According to Voetbal International, the 21-year-old defender will come over from Bayern Munich and sign a multi-year contract in Limburg. Fortuna will pay a transfer fee, but it is not clear how high it is. Vita, who played for Barnsley in the Championship last year, is valued at 1 million euros on Transfermarkt. With the arrival of the left back, the formation from Sittard is preparing for a departure from George Cox, who hopes to be able to make a transfer.
