TOP Oss continued its advance in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. In the Brabant derby against FC Den Bosch, Bob Peeters’ team drew 2-1 in the final phase. With this TOP records the third win in a row, with which the club steams from fifteenth place to eleventh. It was also the first game in which the public was again welcome in the stadiums; however, the fans present did not adhere to the conditions set.

At Tuesday’s corona press conference it was announced that professional clubs were allowed to fill a third of the stadiums again, after having played without spectators for two months. The condition for this was that fans would sit spread over the stands and keep a distance of one and a half meters. It went wrong in the first game. The TOP Oss fans present (FC Den Bosch supporters were not welcome) were captured while they were grouped closely together.

TOP had gained confidence from the last two games. In the first fifteen minutes Den Bosch had trouble playing football under the pressure of the home team, although there were no great opportunities.
Yet the first real danger came from the visitors. Sebastiaan van Bakel and Jeremy Cijntje combined on the left; the subsequent cross ended up at the feet of Ryan Leijten. However, the attacking midfielder saw his volley nipped in the bud. TOP mainly created danger via free kicks from Justin Mathieu, before the club took the lead via the same Mathieu.

Teun van Grunsven did not get a good pass from Oss, which meant that the number ten of the home team was able to print: 1-0. It was a deserved lead, with which the teams also went into half-time. Immediately after the break Den Bosch almost came alongside. Cijntje dribbled into the box and passed to Soufyan Annach, who aimed the ball just wide of Norbert Alblas’ goal. TOP left it at that for the time being. It took the initiative again and the 2-0 seemed to be in the air.

Out of nowhere, however, Den Bosch came to 1-1. Barry Maguire, fresh back from an adventure in Singapore at Geylang International, got the ball at his feet after a corner. The prodigal son fumbled the ball in through Niels Fleuren and seemed to secure the point. Lion Kaak, however, changed that four minutes before the end. The TOP midfielder got (again) a falling ball in front of his feet and hit it perfectly on his instep for the 2-1.
