Erwin van de Looi has included 32 players in the preliminary roster of the Dutch Junior Team for the upcoming games against Jong Gibraltar (8 October) and Jong Cyprus (13 October). The most striking name is Mats Knoester, the 21-year old defender of Heracles Almelo.

Knoester was trained by Feyenoord, but was unable to break through at De Kuip. At Heracles Almelo he made such a good impression that Van de Looi decided to include him in the pre-selection. FC Utrecht supplied three goalkeepers with Fabian de Keijzer, Thijmen Nijhuis and Maarten Paes.
