Erik ten Hag does not completely rule out recalling Amad Diallo from his rental period at Sunderland. The twenty-year-old winger is doing well in the Championship, while Manchester United is struggling with a shortage of players on the wings. However, Ten Hag sees Diallo taking major steps at his temporary employer and does not want to stand in the way of his development.

Manchester United is not well in its attackers after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are currently vying for the front three positions, while Jadon Sancho is working on his fitness. Anthony Elanga has ended up on the second plan this season and is nominated to be loaned out. Partly because of all this, Ten Hag received a question about the possible recall of Diallo at the press conference before the game against Bournemouth.

The Ivorian, who saw a dike injury put an end to a rental to Feyenoord last season, makes an impression at Sunderland. With six goals in nineteen appearances, he is currently the third most productive player in the league the Black Cats. “We consider everything, as long as it strengthens our selection,” Ten Hag responded to the question. However, De Tukker immediately made a comment. “At the same time, I’m a bit hesitant because I don’t want to stop the process. He’s taking huge steps there, I’m very happy with that.”

If Diallo is actually retrieved, it means good news for the youngster. It means that Ten Hag considers him ripe for the base. “I know they need experience, young players. When we decide to bring him back, it has to be a player who can start in the starting line-up, or at least compete for it,” the coach said plainly. Diallo was taken over from Atalanta two years ago for 21.3 million euros. Since then he has made nine appearances the Red Devils, in which he managed to find the net once. He was briefly loaned to Rangers at the end of last season after recovering from his injury.
