Mohamed Salah was injured on Thursday evening in the African Cup of Nations match between Egypt and Ghana (2-2). The left leg was replaced just before half time and immediately grabbed his hamstring. Mohammed Kudus was the big man on the Ghana side with two goals.

Particularities:
The most important moment of the first half happened in extra time, when Salah suddenly sat down. The Liverpool star immediately announced that he could not continue and clutched his hamstring. A hamstring injury usually requires a recovery time of three to six weeks, which means that Salah's Africa Cup of Nations may already be over.

Less than a minute after Salah's sad exit, Kudus opened the score on behalf of Ghana. The ex-Ajax player shot a devastating shot from about twenty meters and ensured that his country went to the changing rooms with a 0-1 lead. The goals came in quick succession in the second half.

Omar Marmoush scored the equalizer in the seventieth minute. The Egyptian took full advantage of a too short back pass to Richard Ofori, rounded the Ghanaian keeper and then shot into the empty goal: 1-1. However, Egypt could not enjoy that equalizer for very long, as Kudus made it 1-2 a few minutes later.

The West Ham United attacker and midfielder looked for the far corner with a placed shot and saw that his effort ended up behind Mohamed El Shenawy via the leg of an Egypt defender: 1-2. But again it only took a few minutes before the next goal would be scored.

It was Mostafa Mohamed who scored Egypt again. Mahmoud Trezeguet stayed strong on the ball at the back line, passed it back to Mohamed and he pushed the ball through the legs of Ghana goalkeeper Ofori: 2-2. That was also the final score. Egypt is in second place with two points from two games. Ghana occupies last place with one point from two matches.
