Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s adventure as manager of Manchester United could come to an end on Saturday evening. The board of the English top club has planned an ’emergency’ meeting after the dramatic defeat against Watford (4-1) The Times. Zinedine Zidane to replace Solskjaer.

The planned meeting will take place from Saturday evening at 8:00 PM Dutch time. According to the renowned British newspaper, Solskjaer’s departure arrangement is on the agenda. The Norwegian coach is under enormous pressure after only four victories in the last thirteen matches and does not seem to survive Saturday’s deception. The Glazer family, who own United, are very dissatisfied with what Solksjaer gets from the second most expensive selection in club history, it sounds like. A number of players are also said to have rebelled against the trainer’s training methods, tactics and substitutions.

The Glazers are fully committed to the arrival of Zidane, who has been in the picture at the club for a long time. The club management has been instructed to increase the offer for the French trainer. It remains to be seen whether Zidane will accept that. Although the former Real Madrid coach would like to join Manchester United, he would rather not step into the middle of the season. Zidane planned a one-year sabbatical after his departure from Real last summer. Moreover, his wife Veronique does not want to live in Manchester.

Solskjaer declined to speculate about his future after the defeat to Watford on Saturday. “I have always believed in myself, but at the moment it is a difficult period for us,” said the United coach. “It doesn’t make much sense to say much about today’s game. We were blown away in the first half and we let them come in too easily. The first half was very, very bad. We have to make sure that the players with a better mindset to kick off.”
