PSV will probably have to look for a new striker this summer. Eran Zahavi is running out of contract and appears to be leaving Eindhoven, while Carlos Vinicius is not considered good enough to fill the striker position. According to the Eindhovens Dagblad a dilemma presents itself for PSV, as there must be a direct replacement for Zahavi in a short time. Is the number two in the Eredivisie going for quality or speed, that is the question.
Elfrink refers to the fact that PSV does not have a single player in double figures this season. Cody Gakpo and Zahavi are the most prolific players with nine goals each. Other names Elfrink mentions are Wout Weghorst, Sam Lammers and Joshua Zirkzee. However, Weghorst earns a considerable salary from Burnley, while Lammer left PSV with some disagreement and for that reason does not seem a logical choice. Zirkzee is often linked to Feyenoord in the Netherlands. The striker is owned by Bayern Munich, but the chance that he will return to the record champion after his loan period at Anderlecht seems small. The German top club asks about ten million euros for the Dutchman. Zirkzee himself would not have ears to a return to the Bundesliga.
