Denzel Dumfries made an attempt to protect his teammate Ionut Radu on Wednesday evening after the game between Bologna and Internazionale (2-1). Due to a blunder by Radu, Inter lost: the judged a throw-in completely wrong, as a result of which Nicola Sansone brought the home supporters into ecstasy with one last push against the ball.

After the game, a cameraman wanted to film the disappointed keeper, but Dumfries made a throwing gesture and briefly threw himself in front of the lens. He gestured that Radu should not be in the picture, it seemed. In the end, however, this did happen, because Dumfries’ intervention was short-lived. Teammates Alex Cordaz, Joaquín Correa and Federico Dimarco also took care of Radu.

Commentator Emile Schelvis van Ziggo Sports loved the action from the right-back. “Down with that camera,” he described Dumfries’ thinking. “Look! Dumfries stands in front of the camera! Very good, Denzel. Your best move of the game. Keep that kid out of the picture, it’s bad enough. Do we all have to empathize with it? No, protect him.” The defeat prevented Inter from taking over the top spot in Serie A from AC Milan.
