Douglas Costa returns to Grêmio, Fabrizio Romano assures Friday. The thirty-year-old wing striker is hired by Bayern Munich from Juventus this season, which no longer appreciates his presence. Douglas Costa has already personally agreed with Grêmio and, according to Romano, is making a significant difference in going back to Brazil.

Grêmio has officially reported to Juventus for Douglas Costa, who is still one year in Turin. An agreement is soon expected between both clubs on the compensation to be paid for the winger. Douglas Costa has almost recovered from a serious foot injury he sustained on February 15 of this year. It is expected that he will not play anymore this season and that he has already played his last game for Bayern Munich.

Douglas Costa was taken over from Bayern by Juventus in 2017 for 40 million euros, but in Italy the South American never fully lived up to expectations. Bayern hired Douglas Costa back from Juventus last summer, but partly due to the injury, he is stuck at only eleven appearances in the Bundesliga this season, in which he provided one goal and one assist. Douglas Costa played thirty official matches for his high school sweetheart Grêmio at the beginning of his career, before moving to Shakhtar Donetsk.
