Borussia Dortmund threatens to grab a ticket to participate in the Champions League for the first time in six years this season. To change the poor performance, the club management has said BILD compiled a wish list of players who can be recruited this summer. André Onana has reportedly been out of the picture, while Donyell Malen is still wanted by BVB.
At the beginning of February, the German boulevard newspaper announced that Ajax goalkeeper Onana was seriously in the picture at Dortmund, which is dissatisfied with his first goalkeeper Roman Bürki. Shortly afterwards it was announced that Onana had to be suspended for twelve months due to doping use, so it is not illogical that the interest of the German top club has cooled off. Odysseas Vlachodimos from Benfica and Péter Gulácsi from RB Leipzig thus remain as the most important targets for Dortmund when it comes to the goalkeeper position.
Dortmund also wants to strengthen itself in the front next summer, especially when Jadon Sancho leaves. The twenty-year-old attacker has been coveted by Manchester United for a year. To respond to that thinks BVB among others to Malen, but that does not seem to be the first option of the current number six of the Bundesliga. The 22-year-old attacker of PSV has a contract until mid-2024 and will therefore certainly not be cheap.
Memphis Depay is, because the the Dutch striker will leave Olympique Lyon in the summer on a free transfer. Dortmund does face fierce competition in the battle for Depay, which is also linked to Barcelona and Juventus. Dortmund also hopes to reinforce the rearguard. Maxence Lacroix is said to be the main target for this. The twenty-year-old Frenchman has been playing for VfL Wolfsburg since this season, which would ask 25 million euros for him.
