Borussia Dortmund has found a new head coach three days after Marco Rose’s departure. Edin Terzic signs a contract until mid-2025 BVBthe German club announces through the official channels.

“We had several intensive discussions with Edin Terzic last weekend and are convinced that the decision to appoint him as head coach is the right one for BVBfuture sporting director Sebastian Kehl said in a statement. “Edin knows our club, the environment, a large part of the team and knows what adjustments we want to make in order to offer our fans success. The 2022/23 season will be marked by a new sporty start. We will continue this together with great pleasure and passion.”

Terzic himself says in a first reaction that he is happy with his appointment. “Many people should know by now how important BVB in my life. I would therefore like to thank Hans-Joachim Watzke (Managing Director, ed.), Michael Zorc (Sporting Director) and Sebastian Kehl for the great confidence and for transferring this great responsibility. We will give everything every day for the success of the team and the whole club.”

Dortmund surprisingly ended the partnership with Rose on Friday after one season. Terzic worked as technical director at Dortmund until Rose’s resignation. In the past he was head coach for half a season those Borus, where he also acted as assistant coach to Lucien Favre for 2.5 years. After the German club parted ways with the French trainer, Terzic led Dortmund to a win of the DFB Pokal.
