Dick Advocaat made his unofficial debut on Sunday as a trainer of ADO Den Haag. The club from the Kitchen Champion Division played a private exhibition game with Sparta Rotterdam in-house. The Eredivisionist turned out to be a size too big and left the field with a 3-0 win. Jason Lokilo scored two goals, Mohammed Tahiri also appeared on the scoreboard.

While the duel with ADO served as a starting shot for Sparta in preparation for the second half of the season, the Advocaat team will face another trial twice this calendar year. ADO will visit Almere City next week and will close the year 2022 on December 16 with a home game against TOP Oss. In the run-up to the duel with Almere, the first divisionist decided to practice against Sparta.

However, ADO was unable to surprise at home, as Sparta triumphed 3-0. Lokilo scored the opening goal. Tahiri doubled the score, after which Lokilo again put himself on the scoreboard. It was Advocaat’s first game as trainer of the club from The Hague. The 75-year-old coach was presented last Monday after Dirk Kuijt was fired by the club management.
