Internazionale won the seventh league match of the season on Saturday evening. Booked a visit to Torino i Nerazzurri a 0-3 victory. Perr Schuurs had to leave the field on a stretcher in the second act. The Dutchman was carried off the field crying with an apparently serious knee injury. After Schuurs’ sad exit, Dumfries proved to be worth gold for the Milanese with an assist, two minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Dumfries therefore had to settle for a reserve role, as Matteo Darmian started in the starting eleven. There was a starting place for Stefan de Vrij, which was at the expense of Alessandro Bastoni. Davy Klaassen started on the bench at Inter and came into the team after more than eighty minutes of play.

In the first company, Inter did not perform well at all. The better chances were spent by Torino, who saw attempts by Samuele Ricci and Demba Seck parried and blocked respectively.

Immediately after the break, disaster struck for Schuurs. The Dutchman collapsed in the grass with a face contorted in pain and it soon became clear that it was a serious knee injury. The stretcher had to transport the visibly emotional center defender from the field.

The next downer for the away team was not long in coming. Dumfries, who had been on the field for less than two minutes, looked for ex-PSV player Ricardo Rodriguez, but still decided to withdraw the ball. Marcus Thuram was there uncovered, ready to work the ball into the far corner: 0-1.

Shortly afterwards, Inter took a more comfortable lead. A corner kick was headed through by Francesco Acerbi, where Lautaro Martínez was free at the far post to nod the ball against the ropes: 0-2.

In injury time, Hakan Calhanoglu determined the final score from the spot: 0-3. For Inter, the victory means the provisional top position in Serie A again. The three-pointer puts it back above AC Milan, which can regain the top position against Juventus on Sunday.
