De Graafschap failed to win in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. On
The Vijverberg choked the Super Farmers located in Young AZ: 1-1. A painful miss for the Doetinchemmers, who therefore offer leader SC Cambuur the opportunity to increase the lead to six points on a visit to Almere City on Sunday. FC Den Bosch booked its first victory against Young FC Utrecht (3-0) since September 22, 2020. Roda JC Kerkrade saw a series of five consecutive victories come to an end against NEC Nijmegen, after a 1-3 defeat. Erik Falkenburg grew into the schlemiel after he got his second red card of the season.

De Graafschap – Young AZ 1-1
Trainer Mike Snoei, whose contract was extended this week, saw his team create the first chance of the game. Jordy Tutuarima delivered a good cross to Joey Konings, who saw his attempt nip in the bud. The Alkmaarders also got a chance just after the end of the first fifteen minutes, but goalkeeper Rody De Boer had a good save at home on the bet of Mohamed Taabouni. The game then reached an impasse and the teams seemed to balance each other until the break, but the ban was broken four minutes before the half-time signal.

Jasper van Heertum took over possession and passed the ball to Konings, who acted as a conduit for Daryl van Mieghem. The latter then hit approximately 25 meters, partly thanks to an unconvincing performance by goalkeeper Beau Reus: 1-0. Seven minutes after the break, De Graafschap had an excellent opportunity to double the score. Tutuarima gave a hard and low cross to Jesse Schuurman, who miraculously did not get the leather between the posts. That miss cost De Graafschap dearly, because Thijs Veldhuis worked the equalizer against the ropes with a header fifteen minutes before the end: 1-1. While the home team tried to force another breakthrough, the tie on the scoreboard did not change.

FC Den Bosch – Jong Utrecht 3-0
The Brabanders started with offensive intentions at the meeting with Jong FC Utrecht, because two possibilities were already created in the first fifteen minutes. Where the shots by Dhoraso Moreo Klas and Romano Postema did not yield the desired result, Jizz Hornkamp managed to open the score halfway through the first half: 1-0. In the second company, Ruben Kluivert missed a good opportunity to score the equalizer, but his attempt from close range went just wide. The liberating second goal for Den Bosch was found by Postema, who scored the 2-0 after a through ball from Lorenzo Soares Fonseca. The final chord was played by Ryan Trotman, who put the 3-0 final score on the scoreboard from the rebound. It was the first victory for Den Bosch since September 22, when MVV Maastricht was defeated 2-0.

Roda JC Kerkrade – NEC Nijmegen 1-3
After an initial phase with opportunities back and forth, the visitors took the lead after half an hour of play. Roda goalkeeper Jan Hoekstra slipped Elayis Tavsan, after which referee Sander van der Eijk pointed to the spot. Jordy Bruijn shot the opening goal from eleven meters against the ropes. It took a long time before Roda actually managed to convert a few possibilities into the equalizer. With 67 minutes left, Erik Falkenburg headed in the 1-1 from a corner kick by Robert Klaasen.

Roda, who had already booked five victories in a row, seemed to be looking for the lead, but in a period of ten minutes Falkenburg grew into the schlemiel on the side of the Limburgers. He received his first yellow card in minute 69, his second yellow card in minute 78 and saw NEC score the winning goal in minute 79. Hoekstra came out of his goal to box a ball, giving Tavsan the chance to spoon the leather over the goalkeeper into the net. Roda could not recover from that blow and saw Javier Vet determine the final score at 1-3 in the final phase, allowing NEC to recover from two defeats in a row.
